A signed application by your physician and a copy of your Drivers License is needed. If you need assistance, feel free to call the Village Office when you have arrived and someone can come out to your vehicle and assist you.
Licenses & Permits: Marriage Licenses, Dog Licenses and Hunting & Fishing Licenses can be obtained at the Town of Brownville Office at 16431 Star School House Rd, Dexter, NY 13634. Hours: Monday – Thursday: 12:00-5:00 PM, Friday: 12:00-4:00 PM Contact the Town Clerk with any questions: (315) 639-6266.
Town Dump Permits Free town dump permits for village residents can be obtained at the Village Office. Residents can dispose of green material (brush & leaves) and electronic equipment ONLY. Leaves and lawn clippings must be emptied out of containers. Branches up to 4" diameter, cut to 4' lengths.
Death & Birth Certificates: The Village holds death and birth certificates for individuals who were born or passed away inside Village limits. There is a $10 fee per certified copy.
Who is eligible to get a copy of a death or birth certificate?
The spouse, parent, child or sibling of the deceased
Other people who have a:
documented lawful right or claim
documented medical need
New York State Court Order
If you are not the spouse, parent, child or sibling of the deceased you must document a lawful right or claim. For example, you may need a death certificate to claim a benefit. You would need an official letter from the agency saying you need the death record to process the claim.
An application must be submitted with copies of either A or B:
One of the following forms of valid photo-ID:
Driver's license
State-issued, nondriver photo-ID card
Passport
U.S. Military-issued, photo-ID
OR
Two of the following showing the applicant's name and address:
Utility or telephone bill
Letter from a government agency dated within the last six months
